Le modèle présenté est Nickelé. Fabriqué en UK par Houghton Ltd. C'était le
premier appareil "tout" métal produit par une compagnie anglaise.
Ce modèle a été crée par un Ingénieur Suédois du nom de Magnus Neill.
Il utilisait un format de film spécifique produit par Houghton, ce qui pour la
marque était un pari et un risque sur l'introduction
d'un nouveau système pour l'époque : appareil + format de film. A cette époque
la firme introduisit aussi le nouveau logo représentant
un drapeau (l'union Jack bien sur) entouré d'un cercle.
L'Ensignette à fait son apparition en 1909 avec le modèle N°1 et a été produit
jusqu'en 1930 après maintes déclinaisons et améliorations
techniques, ainsi que finition (nickel, aluminium, peint, doré, argenté). |
The presented model is the nickel
one. Manufactured by Houghton Ltd in UK, it was the first mass metal
camera produced by a Britis company. This model was designed by a swedish Engineer Magnus Neill. The film format used was specifically developped by Houghton, which for them was a commercial risk to introduce a new camera and also at the same time a new film format. In 1911 Houghton has also introduced it's new logo representing an encercled british flag. The ensignette model appeared in 1909 with the model N°1 et was produced till 1930 after different technical improvements and finish (Nickel, Aluminium, gold finish, silver finish, paint). |
