Le Canon VL-2 est le modèle
économique de la série V qui inaugurait les premiers rideaux métal que l'on
retrouve sur les modèles ultérieurs
série7 par exemple. Comparativement à son
grand frère le VL, ce télémétrique diffère principalement par sa limitation de
vitesse à 1/500s (1/1000s pour le VL) et par le système de rembobinage par
bouton (manivelle sur le VL). Le chargement comme sur tous les appareils de la
série V s'effectue par le dos.
Le VL-2 à été produit à 8450 exemplaires (source Peter Dechert : Canon
Rangefinder Camera 1933-1968). Nombre d'entres eux ont été commercialisés au
Japon donc difficile à trouver.
Le modèle présenté est équipée d'un f3,5 de 13,5 cm à vis M39.

The VL-2 model is the "economical"
version of the V series rangefinder which launched the first models
equipped with metal shutter, used afterwards on the
série7.
Compare to his brother the VL, this
rangefinder mainly differs by the speed limitation to 1/500s (1/1000 s
on the VL) and by the film rewind system by knob (crank rewind on the VL).
The film introduction is made by the back as all V series rangefinder. The VL-2 model was manufactured during 1958 and the complete production was 8450 units (source Peter Dechert : Canon Rangefinder Camera 1933-1968). A lot of them were only commercialised locally in Japan, and it is difficult to find them.
