A la fin des années 50, le
SR-2
était un boitier techniquement très en avance mais excessivement onéreux, il
n'incluait
pas la possibilité de connecter une cellule, alors que ses concurrents
possédaient déjà cette fonction.
En 1960 Minolta décide de lancer le SR-3 avec en option la possibilité de
connecter une cellule sélénium sur un clip.
2 versions ont été produites.
La première version sortie en 1960, possède un diaphragme semi-automatique,
ainsi qu'un stigmomètre.
La version la plus récente sortie en 1971 possède un simple dépoli ainsi que le
retour automatique du diaphragme à pleine ouverture après le déclenchement.
Minolta a aussi modifié ses optiques Auto-Rokkor, pour prendre en compte cette
fonction.

In late 50's the SR2 was a very
advanced camera, but expensive and didn't include the possibility to
adapt a shutter meter. Competitors had already launched their camera
with a clip-on meter. in 1960, Minolta decided to launch the SR-3 with a
possibility to add in option a selenium meter. 2 versions were produced.
The fisrt one launched in 1960 had a split image focusing and a
semi-automatic diaphragm.The second one launched in 1971 had just a
ground glass instead of a focusing screen and an automatic diaphragm
(return of the lens diaphragm at full aperture after shooting). To take
into account this feature, Minolta modified also the Auto-Rokkor lenses. Main features : Quick return mirror, Semi-automatic diaphragm or automatic return depending on the model Horizontal focal plane shutter Speed 1s to 1/1000 and B Self timer Delivered in standard with an Auto-Rokkor 55mm f:1,8 lens. |
